Italy aviation agency summons Alitalia execs

...to seek information on the ailing carrier´s finances and plans to manage the peak summer season, the agency said on Thursday.

Alitalia is still flying due to a 300 million euro government loan after the collapse of its planned sale to Air France-KLM left it at bankruptcy´s door.

The Italian government has since launched a third attempt to sell the airline, but is doing so under the veil of secrecy by suspending normal disclosure requirements for public companies, leaving investors in the dark on the airline´s likely fate.

Alitalia, in a separate statement, said its annual shareholder meeting will likely be held on June 28.
