ATR wins 2 plane orders at Singapore airshow

Regional plane maker ATR, a joint venture between EADS and Finmeccanica, said it had won orders from Air Vanuatu and Air Tahiti at the Singapore airshow.

In separate statements, it said Air Vanuatu had signed an agreement for a 70-seat ATR 72-500 aircraft, finalising a provisional order placed at the end of 2007.

Air Tahiti would buy a 66-seat version of the ATR 72-500 at a cost of more than $18 million, it said.

ATR said its order book currently stood at 196 planes.
