AECOM Designated for $20-Million NJDOT Contract
|
AECOM Technology Corporation, a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for government and commercial clients around the world, announced that it has been designated by the New Jersey Department of Transportation to provide preliminary design, final design, and construction engineering services for the Princeton, New Jersey, Penns Neck project. The estimated fees to AECOM for these services are approximately $20 million.
The $200-million project entails lowering Route 1, one of the major north-south arteries in New Jersey, in a cut section and building two single-point urban interchanges (SPUI), the first to be constructed by NJDOT. Preliminary design is expected to begin in October, and the entire project is expected to be completed around 2014.
“AECOM is proud to be selected for this important project,” said John M. Dionisio, AECOM president and chief executive officer. “The NJDOT’s commitment to maintaining and improving New Jersey’s transportation network is commendable, as it reflects the importance of necessary investments in our infrastructure.”
NJDOT has been a client of AECOM’s transportation practice for more than 40 years. During this long-term client relationship, the company has been responsible for the successful completion of major infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey.
This announcement follows other recent New Jersey transportation contract wins for AECOM, including its selection for the New Jersey Turnpike and Atlantic City Expressway widening projects. Combined, these three projects have added more than $45 million in design backlog for AECOM’s Northeast metro highway practice.
